The Gloucestershire Energy from Waste Facility, based in Haresfield, Gloucestershire is a £500 million new build energy recovery facility commissioned by Gloucestershire Council. The facility is forecast to generate approximately 17.4 MW of electricity annually from 190,000 tonnes of residual municipal waste. It will deliver approximately 14.5 MW to the grid, providing the equivalent energy to power 25,000 homes. The facility will be a combined heat and power plant (CHP) and in addition to electricity, will supply heat or steam to nearby businesses.
