Role: Electrical Design Engineer

The Role:
Due to recent project wins, our client is looking to recruit an additional Electrical Design Engineer to be based from their busy offices in Bromsgrove. Responsibilities will include working within the design team to produce and co-ordinate all electrical elements related to water and waste water systems, from outline design to completion of detailed design and ensure that this transposes into the construction phase. Duties will include:
Producing and coordinating electrical design activities within the companies’ design templates and using the specialist software in compliance with the companies’ specifications
Preparation of and / or supervision of the preparation of drawings for plant general arrangements, power single line diagrams, cable block diagrams, instrumentation loop diagrams, P&IDs, control system architecture drawings, and load, cable, instrument and I/O schedules up to acceptance of the detailed design stage
Managing the interfaces and integration of the EICA design with that of other disciplines and input the electrical detail into other disciplines documentation where necessary.
Ensuring any design submitted by a Sub-Contractor is checked and managed up to the point where the design is complete so that construction can start
Occasionally undertaking asset condition surveys, site survey visits and attend factory / site acceptance tests as necessary to complete the job
Ensuring all activities are achieved with safety, quality, programme and cost in mind
Requirements:
Degree/HNC/HND in an electrically biased subject.
18th Edition Awareness
Good technical knowledge of electrical and ICA (EICA) engineering and able to advise other disciplines regarding aspects of their design as it impacts EICA engineering issues
Able to demonstrate a broad knowledge and experience in LV (HV would be an advantage) distribution systems, motor control centres / control panels, electrical installation practices, SCADA and telemetry systems
Able to demonstrate knowledge and experience of current instrumentation and communication protocols
Ability to write and deliver clear and concise EICA design deliverables across all design stages of a project
Having a working knowledge of Water Treatment and Sewage Treatment Works
Excellent IT, communication, team work and problem solving skills
