About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Advisor with a strong electrical background to support a major new-build power generation project in Ellesmere Port. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a high-profile development, ensuring health, safety, and environmental standards are implemented and maintained throughout the construction and commissioning phases.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits, identifying and addressing potential hazards.

  • Support the development and implementation of project-specific risk assessments and method statements (RAMS).

  • Investigate incidents, near misses, and non-conformances, ensuring timely reporting and implementation of corrective actions.

  • Maintain accurate HSE records and produce regular reports for site and project leadership teams.

  • Liaise with contractors, client representatives, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with all applicable legislation and project standards.

  • Support the delivery of a proactive safety culture across the site.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as an HSE Advisor on large-scale construction projects, preferably within the energy or power generation sectors.

  • Recognised HSE qualifications (e.g. NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate).

  • Electrical background (time-served or relevant qualification/experience).

  • Solid understanding of UK health, safety and environmental legislation, particularly as it applies to electrical works.

  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
