Mechanical Fitter – Industrial New Build Project

Duration:6–9 Month Contract

Hours:11 Day Fortnight | 10 Hours Per Day

Rates:Paid in line with Blue Book Agreement

    £23.45 per hour + holidays

Estimated Weekly Earnings: £2,757.45 based on a 70-hour working week, including lodge and bonus.

Our client is currently seeking experienced Mechanical Fitters for a long-term industrial new build project based in Hertfordshire. This is an excellent opportunity to join a major project offering consistent hours, competitive Blue Book rates, and long-term work.

Responsibilities

  • Installation, assembly and alignment of mechanical equipment including pumps, motors, gearboxes, valves and associated plant.

  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, general arrangement (GA) drawings and mechanical installation drawings.

  • Mechanical fitting, assembly and installation of industrial plant and equipment to specification.

  • Carrying out precision alignment, bolting and torqueing of mechanical components.

  • Assisting with equipment testing, commissioning and fault finding.

  • Working safely in accordance with site procedures, quality standards and health & safety requirements.

  • Working closely with supervisors, commissioning teams and other trades to ensure successful project delivery.

Requirements

  • NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Fitting or an equivalent recognised qualification.

  • Valid CCNSG Safety Passport / ACE Card.

  • Proven experience working as a Mechanical Fitter on industrial new build, power, process or heavy engineering projects.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

  • Strong understanding of site health & safety procedures.

  • 10-hour shifts.

  • 11-day fortnight rotation.
