Sub Agent – Highlands & Islands Energy Projects
Location: Scottish Highlands & Islands
Duration:6 months – 2 years
Rate:£33.00 per hour Monday–Friday / £40.00 per hour weekends
Accommodation:£60 per day accommodation allowance

The Opportunity
We are currently seeking experienced Sub Agents to join a growing team delivering major civil engineering and energy infrastructure projects across the Highlands and Islands of Scotland.
Projects will primarily involve wind farms, substations, cabling and associated civil engineering works, with the role being heavily focused on civil rather than electrical engineering.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Sub Agent looking for long-term work, with projects ranging from 6 months to 2 years and the potential to work across some of Scotland's most significant energy infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and oversee day-to-day site operations and construction activities.
Ensure works are delivered safely, on programme and to the required quality standards.
Supervise and coordinate site teams, subcontractors and labour.
Plan and monitor resources, materials, plant and labour requirements.
Liaise closely with Project Managers, Site Managers, Engineers, clients and subcontractors.
Monitor progress against programme and identify potential delays or issues.
Carry out regular site inspections and ensure works are completed in accordance with drawings and specifications.
Ensure all works comply with relevant health, safety and environmental requirements.
Assist with programme planning, sequencing and short-term lookaheads.
Maintain accurate site records, reports and project documentation.
Identify and resolve technical, logistical and operational issues on site.
Support the delivery of quality assurance and quality control processes.
Provide leadership and technical guidance to site teams.
Assist with coordination of subcontractors and ensure works are completed efficiently.
Attend site meetings and provide updates on progress, risks and challenges.
Requirements
Proven experience working as a Sub Agent within civil engineering.
Strong background in civil engineering and infrastructure projects.
Experience working on energy, utilities, wind farm, substation, cabling or similar infrastructure projects is highly desirable.
Strong understanding of construction methods, sequencing and site management.
Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and specifications.
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Good understanding of health & safety requirements and site procedures.
Ability to manage subcontractors and site teams effectively.
Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
Full UK driving licence.
Flexibility to work away from home across the Highlands and Islands.
Working Pattern
Working patterns will vary depending on the project and location. This could include:
10 days on / 4 days off or similar D10/Fortnight patterns
