Salary: £30,000-40,000 per annum

 

The Role:

 

Due to an increase in workload, our client is currently recruiting for a Workshop Foreman on a full time, permanent basis. The role will involve include running a busy fabrication workshop and ensuring that high standards and timekeeping are maintained. Duties will include:

  • Arranging and allocating workload

  • Supervising workshop team and operational conditions

  • Ensuring workshop activities are completed effectively, to exact specifications and to a high standard of quality.

  • Ensuring adherence to health and safety procedures

  • Completing quality checks

  • Receiving manufacturing packages from the Contracts Manager/Estimator

  • Producing cutting lists and work material ordering quantities

  • Fabricating metals using both MIG and TIG welding techniques

  • Drawing and planning basic designs

  • Safely setting up all work equipment and assemblies to company procedures

  • Operating other machinery and hand tools as and when required

  • Ensuring workshop maintenance and housekeeping are maintained to good standard at all times

  • Maintaining accurate records of production and follow quality assurance ISO standards

  • Effectively communicating any issues, which may potentially result in delay to production or compromise safety.

  • Ensuring confidentiality and company integrity are protected

  • Managing storeroom stock, equipment and consumables etc.

  • Identifying and supporting own and teams development opportunities.

 

Requirements:

 

  • Supervisory experience working in an engineering workshop environment

  • Qualifications / weld codings in MIG and TIG welding

  • Counterbalance FLT certificate

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Good understanding of health and safety policies and procedures
