Position: Workshop Supervisor
Location: Salford, Greater Manchester
Start date: Immediate
Duration: Permanent
Salary: £30,000-40,000 per annum
The Role:
Due to an increase in workload, our client is currently recruiting for a Workshop Foreman on a full time, permanent basis. The role will involve include running a busy fabrication workshop and ensuring that high standards and timekeeping are maintained. Duties will include:
Arranging and allocating workload
Supervising workshop team and operational conditions
Ensuring workshop activities are completed effectively, to exact specifications and to a high standard of quality.
Ensuring adherence to health and safety procedures
Completing quality checks
Receiving manufacturing packages from the Contracts Manager/Estimator
Producing cutting lists and work material ordering quantities
Fabricating metals using both MIG and TIG welding techniques
Drawing and planning basic designs
Safely setting up all work equipment and assemblies to company procedures
Operating other machinery and hand tools as and when required
Ensuring workshop maintenance and housekeeping are maintained to good standard at all times
Maintaining accurate records of production and follow quality assurance ISO standards
Effectively communicating any issues, which may potentially result in delay to production or compromise safety.
Ensuring confidentiality and company integrity are protected
Managing storeroom stock, equipment and consumables etc.
Identifying and supporting own and teams development opportunities.
Requirements:
Supervisory experience working in an engineering workshop environment
Qualifications / weld codings in MIG and TIG welding
Counterbalance FLT certificate
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Good understanding of health and safety policies and procedures
