Overview

We are seeking an experienced Construction Site Manager to oversee the delivery of a new build power generation project. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing daily site operations, coordinating subcontractors, ensuring health & safety compliance, and maintaining progress in line with project schedules and quality standards. Strong background in steelwork erection and installation of mechanical systems such as ductwork and associated equipment is essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise all site activities, ensuring works are carried out safely, efficiently, and in accordance with the project programme.

  • Oversee the installation of steel structures and mechanical packages, including ductwork, pipework, plant equipment, and associated supports.

  • Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and site personnel to ensure seamless delivery of work packages.

  • Conduct daily briefings, toolbox talks, and enforce safety protocols across the site.

  • Monitor progress against schedule, identify risks or delays, and implement corrective actions where required.

  • Review and approve method statements, risk assessments, and work permits.

  • Liaise with the Project Manager, client representatives, and engineering teams to resolve technical issues promptly.

  • Ensure quality standards are adhered to and all work is completed in compliance with project specifications.

  • Maintain accurate daily records, site reports, and documentation.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Site Manager (or similar supervisory role) on industrial construction projects, ideally within power generation, process plant, or large infrastructure.

  • Strong background in steelwork erection and installation of mechanical systems such as ductwork and associated equipment.

  • Valid SMSTS certification (essential).

  • CSCS Managers Card (preferred).

  • IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH qualification (advantageous).

  • Excellent understanding of construction HSE regulations and safe systems of work.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, construction specifications, and installation documentation.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and coordination skills.
