EC&I Supervisor

Rate:£500.00 - £600 per day

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced EC&I Supervisor to oversee Electrical, Control & Instrumentation installation works on a major new build power generation project. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising site-based EC&I activities, ensuring work is delivered safely, on schedule, to specification, and in compliance with quality standards.

This role is critical in coordinating subcontractors, managing site teams, and ensuring installation and commissioning readiness within a high-value, technically complex energy environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise all on-site EC&I installation activities, including:

    • Cable containment, pulling and termination

    • Instrument installation and calibration

    • Control panel installation

    • MCCs, switchgear, and transformer installation

    • Field device installation and loop checks

  • Ensure compliance with HSE regulations, CDM requirements, and site safety procedures

  • Deliver daily briefings and toolbox talks

  • Coordinate subcontractors and direct labour to meet programme milestones

  • Review and interpret drawings, specifications, ITPs, and commissioning plans

  • Ensure quality documentation is completed (ITRs, redline drawings, inspection reports)

  • Support pre-commissioning and commissioning activities

  • Identify and escalate risks to programme or quality

  • Work closely with engineering, planning, and commissioning teams

  • Monitor productivity and report progress to the Construction Manager

Experience & Qualifications

Essential:

  • Proven experience supervising EC&I works on power generation, energy-from-waste, CCGT, biomass, CHP, or large industrial projects

  • Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems up to 11kV (or above if applicable)

  • Experience managing subcontractors on large construction sites

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics

  • SMSTS or SSSTS

  • ECS/CSCS card
