Duration: Initial 6 week contract with possible extension or move to another site

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Construction Supervisor to oversee mechanical/electrical works on a major new build power generation site. This is a critical role for the successful delivery of high-spec installation, commissioning, and quality assurance tasks on a fast-paced project.

As a key point of contact on the night shift, you will be responsible for supervising mechanical operatives and subcontractors, ensuring all work is completed to the highest safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate mechanical installation activities, including piping, rotating equipment, and structural supports.

  • Ensure work is carried out in accordance with project drawings, specifications, and site procedures.

  • Manage workforce productivity, ensuring tasks are completed on time and to standard.

  • Conduct nightly briefings, toolbox talks, and safety checks.

  • Liaise with engineers, site managers, and other trade supervisors to ensure effective coordination across shifts.

  • Monitor progress, quality, and safety performance, maintaining accurate records and reporting back to day shift management.

  • Ensure compliance with site health and safety policies and procedures at all times.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Supervisor on large-scale industrial or power generation projects.

  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant trade.

  • SSSTS or SMSTS (Essential).

  • CSCS or CCNSG Safety Passport.

  • Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to manage teams effectively on night shifts.

  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, construction methods, and site protocols.

  • First Aid and Confined Space qualifications (desirable).
