Position: Design Engineer

Location: Worksop, Nottinghamshire

Start date: Immediate

Duration: Permanent

Salary: £35-40,000/annum, depending on experience

 

The Role:

 

Integrate Engineering Resources are currently recruiting for a Design Engineer on behalf of our client, a market leader in the industrial construction and maintenance sectors. The role will involve working with 2D AutoCAD and 3D Advance Steel to model and detail structural and secondary steelwork and materials handling equipment. Duties will include:

 

- Producing detailed and accurate drawings using 2D AutoCAD and 3D Advance Steel

- Attending sites to survey and then produce workable general arrangement drawings for proposals

- Reading technical drawings and providing revisions in line with Quality Assurance procedure

- Attending meetings for client review when required

- Actively participating in tender packages with input into design for both costs and quality optimisation

- Importing / exporting and inserting files from different software packages, stp files, Tekla models, coordinating and producing master models from client information and 3rd party suppliers.

- Working with laser scanned data, point clouds etc.

- Assisting with technical enquiries when required with support and assistance from the manager

- Managing the administration of multiple medium to large sized projects

- Working with other members of the engineering team and have close contact with the estimating, design and contracting departments

- Mentoring or supervising Apprentices as and when required

 

Requirements:

 

- Degree level, HNC or HND qualification in engineering discipline

- Experience with 2D AutoCAD and 3D Advance Steel

- Previous experience in the heavy industrial, materials handling and secondary and structural steel sectors

- Admin experience particularly in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, Sharepoint and One Drive.

- Experience of using Navisworks to manage, coordinate and create models

- Capable of understanding a structural design calculation and report

- Must be able to work using own initiative and able to work under pressure

- Be organised and structured in your approach

- Have a positive and proactive approach

- UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel and carry out surveying work across the UK
