Role Overview

We are recruiting experienced Coded MMA 111 Welders to carry out structural and pressure-related plate work on a major new build power generation project in Scotland. This is a 12-month contract offering long-term, stable work on a high-profile industrial construction site.

The role will involve manual metal arc (111) welding on carbon steel plate materials, working to approved welding procedures and strict quality, safety, and inspection standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out MMA (111) welding on carbon steel plate work in accordance with approved WPS

  • Weld structural, ducting, casing, and fabricated plate assemblies to specification

  • Perform welding in various positions (including PA, PB, PC, PF, as required)

  • Prepare materials prior to welding, including marking out, grinding, beveling, and fit-up

  • Read and interpret fabrication drawings, welding symbols, and technical specifications

  • Maintain high standards of weld quality to meet visual, dimensional, and NDT requirements

  • Carry out minor fabrication and rectification works as required

  • Adhere strictly to site health, safety, quality, and environmental procedures

  • Work collaboratively with supervisors, inspectors, and other trades on site

Requirements

  • Valid Coded MMA (111) Welding Certification (current or recently expired, subject to testing)

  • Proven experience welding carbon steel plate work on industrial or power generation projects

  • Ability to work from engineering drawings and welding documentation

  • Experience working to WPS, ITPs, and site quality procedures

  • Strong awareness of health and safety requirements on large construction sites

  • Valid CSCS Card

  • Right to work in the UK
