Rigging Supervisor

Location: South East England
Duration: 9–12 Months

The Role

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Rigging Supervisor to join a major new build power generation project in the South East. This is a long-term contract opportunity (9–12 months) supporting large-scale boiler installation and associated heavy lifting activities.

The successful candidate will take responsibility for supervising all rigging operations related to boiler works, ensuring lifting activities are carried out safely, efficiently, and in line with project specifications and industry regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise all rigging and lifting operations associated with boiler installation and structural components

  • Coordinate with Appointed Persons, Crane Supervisors, and site management to ensure safe lifting plans are executed

  • Ensure compliance with LOLER, PUWER, and site-specific safety procedures

  • Review lift plans and RAMS prior to execution

  • Lead, brief, and manage rigging teams on daily tasks

  • Monitor work progress, productivity, and quality standards

  • Conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings

  • Liaise with mechanical installation teams to ensure sequencing and safe integration of works

  • Report progress and issues to project management

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Rigging Supervisor on large industrial or power generation projects

  • Strong background in boiler installation works (essential)

  • Valid CPCS/NPORS (Blue Card preferred)

  • NVQ Level3 Rigging (Moving Loads)

  • SSSTS or SMSTS

  • Appointed Person (desirable but not essential)

  • Excellent knowledge of lifting operations and heavy engineered components

  • Strong leadership and communication skills
