Piping Supervisor

The Role

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Piping Supervisor to join a major new build power generation project in the South East. This is a long-term contract opportunity (9–12 months) supporting boiler installation and associated large-bore and high-pressure pipework systems.

The successful candidate will oversee all piping installation activities, ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, and in accordance with engineering drawings, project specifications, and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise installation of boiler-related pipework systems (steam, feedwater, condensate, etc.)

  • Oversee large-bore, high-pressure carbon and alloy steel pipe installation

  • Coordinate daily activities of pipe fitters and welding teams

  • Ensure compliance with project quality standards, ITPs, and welding procedures

  • Review isometrics, drawings, and technical documentation

  • Ensure works are carried out in line with safety regulations and site procedures

  • Conduct daily briefings, toolbox talks, and progress meetings

  • Liaise with QA/QC teams regarding inspections, testing, and pressure testing activities

  • Monitor progress and report to Construction/Project Management

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Piping Supervisor on power generation, energy-from-waste, or heavy industrial projects

  • Strong background in boiler pipework installation (essential)

  • Experience with high-pressure systems and large-bore pipe

  • Ability to read and interpret isometric drawings and P&IDs

  • SSSTS or SMSTS

  • CSCS Gold/Black Card (or equivalent)

  • Strong understanding of welding procedures and QA/QC requirements
